Although the general layout of this beautiful new bathroom remained the same, we added modern functionality and style with a few key changes. The first thing we removed was the built-in tub and in its place we used a rounded free-standing tub with a floor-mounted tub filler. The new shower has 12×24″ porcelain tiles on the walls and a stone mosaic on the floor and in the stacked alcoves. Frosted, frameless shower walls and door add privacy without closing off the space visually. We added floor heat and used the same 12×24″ tiles as we used in the shower for the main bathroom floor. We kept the existing maple vanity and topped it with a new quartz countertop with a subway tile accent to fill the gap between the countertop and the inset Restoration Hardware medicine cabinets. We also renovated the clients’ attached closet, complete with new cabinetry, valet rods, hamper storage, jewelry drawers, shoe shelves, and belt and tie rods.
