When we were contacted by these empty nesters, their main priority was to create a well-designed space that allowed them to age in place. This classic kitchen in a cherry finish with oil rubbed bronze hardware has modern touches with a sleek 36-inch gas range and a linear tiled backsplash. The perimeter countertops are Cambria Quartz, while the contrasting light island countertop is Quartzite with an ogee edge. The color of the natural veining of the Quartzite nicely compliments the kitchen cabinetry and paneled appliances. An interesting challenge of this particular project was finding a wood-look tile to match the 5” hickory floor we installed through most of the first floor. At the same time as the kitchen remodel we also tackled the laundry room, powder bathroom, and we refaced the stone fireplace. AIM has since been asked to start phase two, which includes the flooring throughout the second floor, updating the stairs going up, and renovating the master and hall bathroom.
