A REFRESHED ROOM

THESE HOMEOWNERS HAD WANTED TO GUT AND REDO THEIR OUTDATED MASTER BATH for some time, but it wasn’t until designer Alex Marske of AIM Kitchen & Bath came into the picture that they received the direction they needed to make their dreams a reality. Marske worked with the family to choose materials and products that would set their bath design apart.

Since one of the owners’ main goals was to get rid of a giant corner Jacuzzi that had become an unused eyesore, Marske helped the couple determine how to utilize the new space its absence would create. Part of this gut job also included removing the existing toilet space, which had been cordoned off into its own separate room along with a small shower. By opening up the space completely into one large room, Marske created room to fit in a new master shower with seat and a large Jacuzzi jetted undermount tub. This new layout maintained the sleek line the clients preferred while helping the room’s aesthetic more closely align with the owner’s traditional home.

Keeping with this traditional feel, Marske chose Holiday Kitchens cabinetry. The pebble tile floor accent and wall accent are Dal-Tile and Sunderland Brothers, respectively.

To ensure the counters would remain uncluttered even after his job was done, Marske brought in hidden outlets in the towers of the vanity for toothbrush and razor application. The towers also tripled the storage capacity of the vanity. In addition, pull-out hampers were added in the cabinets for discreet organization of dirty laundry. The increased storage space, along with the room’s refreshed layout and appearance, has completely transformed the master bath, bringing back to life this once wasted space.
