How To Choose A Remodeling Contractor
When you’ve made the decision to start renovating a space in your home, selecting the right contractor can make or break your project. Here are four key factors to consider to ensure a smooth renovation process.
- Proven Track Record. Longevity truly means something in this industry. Not only in years of experience, but years of satisfied customers. AIM has been in business since 1988 and will gladly provide references from past and current clients.
- Portfolio of Work. Contractors should be able to direct you to their website or social media pages in order to see both in-progress and completed projects. Our body of work can be found at www.aimkitchenbath.com or on our Facebook and Instagram pages (@aimkitchenbath).
- Clear Pricing. A major complaint with renovations is blown budgets. While many contractors offer lump sum bids that group together labor and material costs, here at AIM we pride ourselves on our clear and transparent estimates, with line items for all expected expenses. While an occasional unforeseen expense is not uncommon, basic supplies, materials, and labor costs should not be left off of the bid. When considering multiple bids, be sure that you’re comparing apples to apples before making your final decision.
- Subcontractors. Many contractors are bidding work out to individual subcontractors so you need to not only check the work and references of your contractor but the subcontractors as well. We offer an in-house approach to renovating, with our team of installers completing nearly all the work for the project. This is a huge part of why our projects stay on schedule and on budget.
